Now that we’ve reviewed together all bands for each of your teams, along with individual impacts, it’s time to roll it out more globally within the team.
Next steps?
1️⃣ First, we will meet with those impacted by the implementation of salary bands. Meetings will be held by you and me, with your direct reports, individually.
Who are they, and what’s the message to be passed?
Those who were below ranges that we will bring back within range. As discussed, they are not necessarily at the bottom of the range but where they should be considering their level of performance. The goal will be to explain why we positioned them there in the range, and their salary increase will be effective on (date).
Those who were positioned lower than they should be within their range. They are re-adjusted, and their salary increase will be effective on (date).
Those above ranges or positioned higher than they should be within the range. For them, we agreed that we would be living with some compensation debt, they are overpaid compared to their current level of performance, and we’ll explain to them that given this situation, their compensation won’t be reviewed until they overpass the level of performance for which they are currently being paid (either with a promotion, if they are above range, or with evolution with their level, if they were just too high within the range).
2️⃣ Once individual adjustments are managed, we’ll roll out salary bands to the whole company, and those will be included in our day-to-day process:
